Corrugated Shipping Boxes

Corrugated shipping boxes are a reliable and cost-effective solution for protecting products during transport, storage and distribution. At Pack & Roll, we manufacture shipping boxes for a wide range of industrial, commercial and e-commerce applications, with dimensions, board specifications and printing tailored to the requirements of the packed product.

The primary purpose of a shipping box is to protect its contents from mechanical damage while keeping individual products together as a single handling unit. Corrugated board combines relatively low weight with good rigidity and cushioning properties, making it particularly suitable for transport packaging. Its fluted structure helps absorb impacts and vibrations while providing the strength required for stacking and handling throughout the logistics process.

FEFCO 0201 – The Standard Shipping Box

One of the most widely used shipping box constructions is the FEFCO 0201 Regular Slotted Case (RSC). It is a simple and efficient design with four closing flaps at the top and bottom, suitable for a broad range of products and industries. The international FEFCO coding system provides a common reference for corrugated packaging designs and makes it easier for manufacturers and customers to specify box constructions accurately.

FEFCO 0201 boxes can be manufactured in virtually any practical size to suit the product, pallet layout and transport requirements. Selecting the right dimensions reduces unnecessary empty space, improves pallet utilisation and can lower both material consumption and transport costs. More complex shipping box designs can also be produced where additional protection, special opening features or a different construction is required.

Customised for Your Products

There is no single corrugated board specification that is suitable for every shipment. The required construction depends on factors such as product weight, dimensions, fragility, stacking height, storage conditions and the expected stresses during transportation.

Pack & Roll helps customers select a suitable packaging construction and develops the box around the actual product and logistics process. Where necessary, prototypes can be produced before series production so that dimensions, fit and functionality can be checked in advance.

Shipping boxes can be supplied unprinted or flexographically printed. Printing can include handling symbols, product identification, company logos, barcodes and other information required during warehousing and distribution. Corrugated packaging is commonly converted through printing, slotting, folding and gluing, while more complex designs can be manufactured using die-cutting technologies.

Efficient Packaging for Transport and Storage

Good transport packaging is not simply about using the strongest possible box. The objective is to find the right balance between protection, material use, handling efficiency and cost. A box designed closely around its contents can reduce unnecessary packaging material, improve stacking stability and make better use of warehouse, pallet and vehicle space.

Corrugated board is also well suited to circular packaging systems. Its main raw material is paper fibre, which may contain virgin, recycled or a combination of fibres, and used corrugated packaging can be collected through established paper recycling streams.
